I've never read them... looks like another author to look at
The Earthly Knight by Janet McNaughton... guess what I noticed after my mom bought it for me. The book cover was put on wrong so the inside is upside down!

Yeah, you should check out his books Miriam! Hangmans curse was the best, although you should never read it at night, not that it is scarry or anything, just that you get addicted to the book, and end up falling asleep at 3:00 in the morning!

Jane Eyre is by Charlotte Bronte
Last two books I bought was Les Miserables and The Science of Harry Potter, which takes ideas such as flying and compares them to Muggle science, as well as a discussion about the corrolation between magic, religon, science, and how they are all the same.
